Learning Spanish for beginners

The time has never been better for learning Spanish for beginners, because that time is NOW!

On-line learning is the way to go and now, with modern technology, there are thousands of resources out there, literally at the tip of your fingers, to help you get started with your goal of learning another language.

In my dreams I am that teacher of Spanish, as pictured above, hoping to reach out to as many children or adults as possible to help with their language goals.

If you have ever had a thought about learning another language, then now is the time to start. Remember the advice I gave in a previous post If not now, when?

There is not only ONE WAY to learn a new language. You need to accept the fact  that language acquisition, even of a native language, is messy and non-linear.

Consider how you learned your native language.

  • Hearing…children hear from the day they were born, or even before, in the womb.

                                                         You were that child!

  • Repetition …children are parrots and love repeating. They love repeating because that’s how they are programmed to learn.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                           You were that child!
  • Naming people or objects…children begin to use their first words when presented with a familiar person or object and love to name it.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                    You were that child!
  • Necessity…there is a moment when a child’s mind develops enough to understand that naming a person or an object that isn’t there may often result in the appearance of said person or object e.g., “Mummy!”, “Daddy”, “Drink!” or “Teddy!”                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                   You were that child!

You already did it once! You can do it again.

Learning Spanish for beginners might seem a little tricky, but if it were easy everybody would be doing it. The key is to make it fun!

                              Accept it will take committment.

                           Accept it will take time.

Accept that you will get frustrated.

ACCEPT THAT YOU CAN DO IT!
